With the development of the production technology, there are two main ways of deep drawing of the cylinder halves. One is the laminating deep drawing, called as plastic film covering deep drawing too. Another one is oil spraying deep drawing. Which tech is better seems to be a difficult question. THLPG aims to provide the suitable machines to the clients. Here are the comparison of these two methods:
Laminating deep drawing (Plastic Film Covering)
Advantages
Good and stable lubrication effect: The film can provide continuous and uniform lubrication during the deep drawing process, effectively reduce the friction coefficient between the sheet and the mold, reduce friction, make the deep drawing process smoother, and help improve the molding quality of the head and reduce the probability of surface scratches and wrinkles.
Protect the surface of the sheet: Putting the plastic film on the outside of the sheet can avoid direct contact between the sheet and the mold, prevent impurities or protrusions on the mold surface from scratching the sheet surface, and play a good protective role on the sheet, which helps to maintain the smoothness and integrity of the surface of the cylinder head and improve the appearance quality of the product.
Clean and environmentally friendly: Compared with oil spray deep drawing, laminating deep drawing does not require the use of a large amount of lubricating oil, reduces the generation and discharge of oil pollution, and has less pollution to the production environment, which is conducive to keeping the production workshop clean and hygienic, and also reduces the workload and cost of subsequent cleaning processes.
High degree of automation: With the automatic laminating device, such as by setting up unwinding components, cutting components and laminating components, the laminating process can be fully automated, improving production efficiency, reducing manual operations, and reducing labor intensity and the impact of human factors on laminating quality.
Disadvantages
High equipment cost: Special laminating equipment is required, such as automatic laminating mechanism, unwinding device, cutting device, etc. The purchase and maintenance costs of these equipment are high, which increases the initial investment and operating costs of the enterprise.
Film cost and waste: The plastic film used is an additional material cost, and if the film recycling is not perfect, it will cause certain resource waste and environmental pollution.
Increased operational complexity: The laminating process requires the coordination of multiple links, such as film unwinding, cutting, and lamination with the sheet. Any problem in any link may affect the laminating quality and production progress, and the stability of the equipment and the skills of the operator are required to be high. Although this issue has been solved in the automatic line, but the cost also increased accordingly.
Oil spraying deep drawing
Advantages
Simple equipment: No complex laminating equipment is required, only an oil spraying device is required, and the equipment investment is relatively low. For some companies with small production scale or limited funds, it is easier to achieve and accept.
High flexibility: The amount and position of oil spraying can be adjusted at any time according to needs. For head deep drawing of different specifications and shapes, oil spraying operation can be carried out more conveniently, which is suitable for the production of various product models and has strong production flexibility.
Wide material adaptability: Lubricating oil has a good lubricating effect on plates and molds of various materials, and can adapt to different types of steel and mold materials, unlike lamination deep drawing, which may be limited by the compatibility of film materials with plates and molds.
Disadvantages
Lubrication uniformity is difficult to control: It is difficult to ensure that the lubricating oil is evenly distributed on the surface of the plate during the oil injection operation, and it is easy to spray too much or too little oil. If the lubricating oil is unevenly distributed, it may cause uneven force on various parts of the head during the deep drawing process, affecting the molding quality and increasing the risk of defects.
Difficult to clean: Oil injection deep drawing will leave a lot of oil stains on the surface of the mold and the plate. Not only does it need to thoroughly clean the stretched head to remove the surface oil stains to meet the quality requirements of the cylinder, but the oil stains on the mold also need to be cleaned regularly, otherwise it will affect the precision and service life of the mold, increasing the cleaning cost and workload.
High environmental pressure: The use of lubricating oil will cause certain pollution, and improper treatment of waste oil will cause harm to the environment. With the increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements, companies need to invest more costs to deal with waste oil and control environmental pollution to meet environmental protection standards.
Impact on subsequent processes: If the oil stains are not cleaned thoroughly, it may have an adverse effect on subsequent welding, painting and other processes, such as reduced welding quality, insufficient coating adhesion and other problems, thereby affecting the overall quality and performance of the cylinder.
